Founded on a farm in 1924Brits is situated in the Bojanala region of the North West, and is a large town in a fertile area of which the soils are irrigated by Hartbeespoort Dam.  Brits is located in the middle of a successful grain-producing area as well as it playing an important role in the South African mining industry.
